Designed for babies and young children up to two-years-old, a presenter leads an interactive session of action songs, rhymes, finger-plays and stories. Encore! Music School offers fun, interactive music classes for children from 12 months of age, at various locations. These classes go beyond simply doing action songs and introduce your kids to the basics of music. They learn musical concepts such as pitch, rhythm, tempo and volume. The classes also introduce them to a variety of musical instruments – a great highlight for the kids!
Encore has a programme that takes your kids through the musical journey:
1-3 year olds: ‘Encore! Tots Rhythm and Rhyme’ – Kids learn basic musical concepts through nursery rhymes, action songs and fun musical games.
3-5 year olds: “Encore! Tots – Introduction to Music” – We further build and develop their musical understanding – even introducing basic music theory concepts!
5-7 year olds: “Encore! Kids – Lets Play Music!” – Kids learn how to read music as well as ensemble playing on the different instruments.

Boppers and Hoppers
An activities class giving children the opportunity to gain confidence and explore with music and movement with a basic circuit that gives a variety of challenges for ages 1-2 years. Nairnville Rec Centre on Monday 10.30am and Wednesday 9.15am. For more information, visit Boppers and Hoppers.
Giggles and Wiggles
A fun session for parent and child to explore the world of music and movement together. Suitable for babies who are not yet mobile. Held at the Karori Recreation Centre on Monday 11.45am – 12.15: Giggles and Wiggles.
Let’s Twinkle is a Suzuki Early Childhood Education Music for young children. The Twinkling Tots class is a fun group music class for newborns, babies and toddlers (0-3yrs) and their parents. These classes provide opportunities for intellectual, social, emotional and physical development, as well as lay the foundation for future Suzuki instrument classes. Designed for babies and young children, this is a music class run in churches nation-wide. Classes are weekly and are 30 minutes long (with music, rhyme and songs). After the session, the children are given communal snacks and the caregivers have morning tea. You need to register with the class and sometimes there can be a waiting list (although groups usually allow casual visits too). The cost varies between groups but usually a few dollars a session. Musical Tots – Karori Rec Centre

Musical Tots – Te Rauparaha Arena

Preschool Music Class
Interactive and fun sessions for you and your little one – giving children an introduction to music making, appreciation and REAL instruments – a fantastic foundation for them to find and start learning an instrument themselves. Raroa Music Centre
