Little Splashers Drop-in Swim School, Arena Aquatic Centre
Porirua City Council and Dash Swim school have created a new class that offers a greater opportunity for Kiwi Kids to learn to swim. Little Splashers is a drop in bubs and toddler session that run on a Tuesday 10-12pm and a Sunday 9.30-11am at the Arena Aquatic Centre. We have a couple of instructors in the pool going round and helping parents by giving them tips and tricks to get their child water safe.
Little Splashers is just a taste of the Dash Swim School program operated by Porirua City Council at Cannons Creek Pool. In the full Dash program your child will learn the vital skills needed to be water safe. Every lesson has a focus on Water safety and our aim is to fist teach your child to survive – Then learn how to swim.
Dash Swim School’s unique water safety program also offers participants the opportunity to experience real life situations in a safe environment to teach what will keep them safe and what to do when it goes wrong.

Little Makos Swim School is a community partnership between Berhampore School and Harbour City Water Polo Club. It is run at a Berhampore School. Little Makos provides lessons for all ages of children (6 months to 12 years), with classes no larger than 5 kids. And the pool is gas-heated and covered. As well as private learn to swim classes they also run free community swimming sessions out of the pool every sunday from 1-4pm – a lifeguard is provided to supervise proceedings and all families are welcome to come and swim. TogZone Swimming School offers swimming classes for all ages in Lane St, Upper Hutt. Established for over 16 years they run a perpetual class system which rolls over the child/adult into the following months classes, eliminating the need to book every month.
