Active Mums – Mums in Motion
A 7-week postnatal foundation course focusing on regaining abdominal/pelivc stability, posture and muscle tone after pregnancy. Mums given a workbook with readings and homework exercise programme and babies are included in the workouts!- Weds 10.30am: Activemums. Classes are based at Exodus gym on Tory st and in summer months – out and about.
Active Mums – Groups
Builds on Mums in Motion by increasing fitness through a variety of training methods. Continue to shape, sculpt and create a healthy body while building suportive friendships with other mums and their babies! Tues and Thurs- 9.30 and 10.45: Activemums. Classes are based at Exodus gym on Tory St and in summer months – out and about.

City Fitness in Johnsonville does a great ‘buggy fit’ class, for mums and bubs. More information: CityFitness.
The new functional training facility in Lyall Bay offers Mums and Bubs classes where new mums or mums with toddlers can come and get a full body workout involving cardio, gymnastics and weight training. The specially designed classes ensure that the mums can have a good workout while being in close reach of their children. Mums and Bubs WOF Crossfit
Based in Porirua, this ‘mums and bubs’ class is held on Tuesday and Fridays from 09:30-10:30am and cost $15 per class. Suitable for any fitness level any shape, and you can bring more than one child. For more details, check out WOF Crossfit.
Parents on the Move, Tawa
Perfect for mothers, fathers, grandparents & caregivers of children under 5 years. Any fitness level & any age group are welcome AND you are encouraged to bring your child to class. You’ll find yourself running, jumping, leaping, lunging, crawling and generally manoeuvring yourself after your child. You will be educated on training that incorporates your child, that can be done at home using limited time, space and equipment. Bonus sessions include buggy tyre change sessions, group ‘buggy walks’, the occasional shared morning tea and spot prizes. Rags 2 Fitness
Get a full body workout by building endurance, regaining core strength and improving posture, flexibility and muscle tone with a combination of strength training, cardiovascular, abdominal exercises & stretching. Xtend Barre is Pilates and dance amplified. It brings in elements of dance, ballet and Pilates to create an adrenaline-fueled workout that strengthens, lengthens and chisels the body. Move Body Mind
Move Body Mind’s Shelley McCarten offers a whole body approach to address pelvic floor and core function for pregnancy, postnatal recovery and women’s health. Private sessions can be arranged at Shelley’s home studio, or at the client’s home, as well as online classes and Skype sessions so that you can exercise with your baby or toddler in tow.
