Kōhunga Kōrero: Storytimes in te reo Māori
Monthly storytimes in te reo are available at Miramar, Newtown, Johnsonville and Cummings Park (Ngaio) Libraries. Open to anyone, these free 30min sessions feature stories, rhymes and waita in te reo, and are perfect for 2-6 year olds and their caregivers. Details: Kohunga Korero.
Stimulate your child with stories and rhymes with library staff. Mix with other young children and make new friends. Suited to children aged 2-4 years.

He Wa Pai at Upper Hutt Library

Seven for 7 at Hutt War Memorial Library
A monthly evening storytime for 7-year-old plus. Have a cosy hot chocolate while you listen to stories and get up to other mischief.
First Friday of every month – Does not run in January

Held on the last Friday of each month, an afterschool story session for ages 5 – 13.
Story time, Kilbirnie Children’s Bookshop
Free story time every Friday morning at 10.30am. Come along for 30 minutes of good ol’ sing alongs and enjoy some fabulous picture books. There’s a lucky draw every week, as well as discount vouchers for coffee or tea at Plaza Pizzeria across the road, and 10% off the normal price for the books Marie reads that day. Te Papa Storyplace
Held in an activity based learning centre on level two (near the parent room), this fun interactive storytime is for children aged 12 months to 5 years. Programmes change every 8 weeks and each Storyplace session runs for 45 mins.
Monday – Friday, year-round (excluding public holidays)

- 11.30am–12.15pm (buy your tickets by 11.25am)
- 1.30pm–2.15pm (buy your tickets by 1.25pm)
